What is the time commitment for games and/or tournaments?
KMYSA traveling teams participate in league play. This means five home games and five away games. Away games generally are no more than 2hrs travel (one way). League games for 12U & younger are scheduled on weekends until school is out. League games for 13U & older will be assigned a day of the week to play. KMYSA attempts to schedule around school sports/events but can make no guarantee.
Tournaments are normally last two or three days. They often start on Friday evening, but exceptions are given to teams traveling from distance.
When/where are practices held?
- 9U-12U is scheduled to practice 2X a week (Tentatively 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.)
- 13U-14U is scheduled to practice 3X a week (Tentatively 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.)
- 15U-18U is scheduled to practice 4X a week (Tentatively 6:45p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
How do you form teams?
The starting point for team formation is birth year based on MYSA guidelines (see chart below). Team roster size varies per age group (see chart below). Registrations will be based on registration date (i.e. the first to register will be placed first). KMYSA makes every attempt to place each child on the most appropriate team. KMYSA also attempts to notify each parent as soon as it becomes apparent that no team is available for that age group so they still have time to register with another organization. KMYSA will not consider buddy-requests as those requests become too hard to manage.

Are evaluations being held for the spring season?
KMYSA does its best to construct teams based on age groups. However, there have been instances where we have had the "good problem" of too many players in an age group and we have to split the teams into different competitive levels. This might necessitate evaluations being held in order to field a team that is prepared for the rigors of the greater competition.
What is your refund policy?
It is the policy of KMYSA not to issue refunds after February 15th, 2026
